A show of appreciation

 I really thank you my dear

Your gift has opened up for me new spheres
It has taken to me to unbelievable heights
And I have in view even greater sights
But taking you along my prospects will blight
You have been a darling and a gem
But I have kept pace by being updated
And now you have become outdated and obsolete
There is no longer common ground on which we can meet
So this is where things must end
Certainly you’ve seen how much I appreciated your gift
But the giver I no longer need
He is no longer an asset but a liability
So adieu and goodbye forever
Or maybe until I am down and out again
